I have wanted a firebird for a long time.but I can't see 1500 bucks for a gibson. Speaking of tokia, There (is/was) a tokia firebird on t neck. Man, I never thought i would be considering the purchase of a korean les paul knockoff.after owning an Electra in the 70's (what a horrible guitar.tuners, sound, fit, playability.you name it, the Electra sucked in it). Did a bit of light Googling and found out this company primarily made pianos until the mid 50's, and was later purchased by Samick to form Samick Horugel, but that's pretty much all I could find out. I've never in my life heard of this brand, however. the birdseye maple top is really unique and you would have to get a "les paul elegant" to get that in a gibson. Dude is selling the guitar for what equates to about 60. The samick les paul is cheap enough (300 bucks) that i won't have to sell my '66 strat to buy it. So far the only other references I have found have been for Pianos and seem to be marketed primarily in Europe. I understand the company is based in Inchon Korea. I really don't want to part with that guitar even though I would make alot of money off the sale. : : Has anybody heard of a make of guitar called Horugel. I have had the strat since i was 16.it was 10 years old (that should give you an idea of how old a fart i am.). I have been offered a real good price for the strat. I also have a horugel-samick guitar from 1976, it is in perfect condition, I dont know the value of this guitar, maybe its an exeptional model, or maybe its a piece of junk, they say you can find everything on the web, but theres absolutely no information about this guitar, it is really fustrating. In 2016, the company was restructured and its name changed to Samick Archery Co., Ltd. Basically, if you're paying less than 7-800 for a guitar, it's probably a Samick, no matter what it says on the headstock. Almost all of the guitar manufacturers mid to low end models are made by Samick in Korea. In 1990, this division was reorganized as Samick Sports Co., Ltd.
